About

Semihandmade was founded by John McDonald in 2011 as a one-man shop. Today, we employ 50+, have completed over 25,000 home renovation projects, and have been named to Inc. Magazine's fastest-growing private U.S. companies list every year since 2015. We're a distributed workforce with a home base at our Monrovia, CA headquarters and have showrooms in Monrovia, New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Seattle.

We believe there's no need to overpay for a smart, accessible, and versatile renovation. That's why we make quality, beautiful cabinet fronts for Ikea kitchen, bath, and storage systems, and work with designers like Sarah Sherman Samuel and Chris Loves Julia on exclusive collections.

With the launch of our partnerships with high-end, design-centric brands Hawkins New York, Caesarstone, Shelfology, Emtek, and Backdrop, Semihandmade is the new one-stop-shop for all things home makeover. Now customers can shop cabinet fronts for Ikea systems, decorative hardware, floating shelves, hooks and hangers, quartz countertops, paint, and kitchen and bath essentials in a single online destination.
