About
The African School of Economics aims to promote cutting-edge economic research, innovative public policy and to contribute to the emergence of world-class social scientists and business in Africa. Our motto is "Open Community," which speaks to our commitment to collaborative research and exchange.
Founded in 2014, the African School of Economics (ASE) is a Pan-African graduate university dedicated to producing cutting-edge economic research, public policy, and world-renowned social scientists and economic leaders on the continent. Headquartered in Abomey-Calavi, Benin, ASE hosts a number of affiliated institutes, including the Institute for Empirical Research in Political Economy (IERPE).
Undergraduate Offerings
ASE's undergraduate program, launching in September 2018, will grant young students the opportunity to gain an interdisciplinary, multilingual education through four offered majors. The specializations are as follows: Economics and Statistics; Statistics and Computer Science; Management and Marketing; and Accounting and Finance.
Graduate Offerings
ASE currently offers four master's degrees: Master in Mathematics Economics and Statistics (MMES), Master in Business Administration (MBA), Master in Development Studies (MDS), and a Master in Public Administration (MPA).
ASE offers a Pre-Doctoral Program, which has helped graduates earn fully-funded admission to top PhD programs at Princeton University, New York University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and other elite programs. In addition to placing students in high-caliber international doctoral programs, ASE offers a PhD in Economics.
Executive Education
The Certificate in Impact Evaluation of Public Policies (CEIPP) allows working professionals to continue their education.
