La Pimpinière is a foundation recognized as a public utility by the canton of Bern. It was created in February 1980, on the initiative of a group of parents, concerned about the future of their disabled children.
The foundation's objectives are creating and managing facilities for the training, education, occupation, treatment, and accommodation of French-speaking mentally handicapped people living in the canton of Bern.
