For over a century the Monte Verità has been a pole of attraction drawing visitors to meet and exchange ideas. In the early 20th century the hill was home to a Utopian community of anarchists, philosophers, artists and writers, brought together by a common desire for an authentic lifestyle of freedom of thought.
In 2013 this remarkable, inspiring place became the venue for the annual Festival Eventi letterari Monte Verità, with the intention of recreating the atmosphere of intense cultural debate that flourished in its early years. Writers and intellectuals of our time are invited to cross-fertilize the memories and cultural roots of the last century with their own contemporary experiences.
