About

The RJ's story started way back in 1995 when Levin local, Roger Halliwell and his son Regan James (RJ) travelled all the way to North Dakota to source licorice making kit to fulfil a lifelong passion. By 1998 RJ's Licorice was firmly established as the leading licorice brand in NZ and over the next two decades business grew substantially - both domestically and around the world.

Fast forward to 2021 and RJ's have firmly cemented themselves as "NZ's Lolly Shop" through the continued growth of licorice as well as the acquisition of iconic NZ confectionery brands such as Mackintosh's, Oddfellows, Heards, Black Knight, Fabulicious and even Jaffas!.

RJ's remain proudly Kiwi with a large family of staff based out of our Levin site as well as sister companies, ensuring our product reaches all corners of the globe, in both the US and Australia.
