Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, founded by the Religious Sisters of Charity in Cork in 1870, has a rich history of providing specialist palliative care and services for dependent older people. Originally located on the north side of Cork City, the hospital relocated in 2011 to state-of-the-art facilities in Curraheen, Cork, ensuring that patients receive care in a modern, high-quality environment.

As an independent voluntary hospital with university status, Marymount is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.
