About
Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) was created in 2006 as a part of the Humanitarian Reform to safeguard and improve the nutritional status of people affected during an emergency, by ensuring a response that is predictable, timely, effective and at scale. The GNC exists to collectively strengthen the technical and coordination capacities for nutrition, based on the needs of affected populations.
Our goal is to enable countries to forecast nutrition trends and prepare for, respond to, and recover from, shocks during humanitarian emergencies, thereby contributing to global efforts to prevent and treat malnutrition in all its forms.
As of beginning of 2020, Global Nutrition Cluster provides strategic and technical leadership and operational support to 23 national nutrition in emergency coordination platforms and includes 46 Global Partners.
