About
The Coalition for National Trauma Research is a non-profit organization formed in 2014 by leaders of America's preeminent trauma societies--AAST, ACS-COT, EAST, ABA and WTA. The coalition now comprises 24 core, stakeholder and affiliate member organizations that together represent 232,000 multi-disciplinary adult and pediatric trauma care professionals across the continuum of injury.
With the support and participation of the national trauma community, CNTR manages funding for multidisciplinary, multi-site trauma research and builds research infrastructure to support investigators. Formerly called the National Trauma Institute, since 2006, CNTR has secured and/or managed nearly $100 million in research funding from a variety of sources including NIH, DoD, PCORI, AHRQ and industry.
CNTR's growing toolkit of investigator resources includes a National Trauma Research Action Plan that prioritizes research gaps, a National Trauma Research Repository to enable clinical data sharing, an Injury Research Engagement Panel of patients and caregivers, geographic information systems expertise for studies with location and distance elements, and more.
