About
The Jinan Foreign Language School International Center's mission is to prepare students for academic success at the most highly regarded universities in the United States, Britain, and other top-level universities. We began our mission in 2010 with a class of 54 grade ten students. The class graduated in May of 2013 with 100% of the students selected to attend universities abroad. Our 2014 graduating class numbers 100 students; 50 seeking placement in United States, and 50 seeking placement in schools of the United Kingdom and other countries. Our graduates have been accepted to New York University, Cornell University, Penn State, Georgia Tech, University of California at Berkley, and Mount Holyoke College among others in the United States. In the United Kingdom we have placed students at University of Oxford, Imperial College, London School of Economics and University College London. In other countries we have placed students at University of Toronto, Australian National University in Melbourne and University of Hong Kong. We are confident our graduates will make lasting contributions at these institutions.
Our preparation is based on providing instruction in a dual language model while exposing students to the College Board's Advanced Placement courses and the Cambridge AS, A2 and A-Level courses. Our teachers prepare students in accordance with requirements of the Chinese Ministry of Education, augmented with courses in English (both North American and British), sciences, mathematics, business, and computer programming. We offer courses to prepare students for Universities that require A-Level marks as well as preparation for the International English Language Test Services (IELTS) exam. We also offer Advanced Placement courses from the College Board as preparation for students who intend to study in the United States. Both tracks are supported by a group of counselors that guide our students and their families through the challenges of college applications.
